Jr. High Quiz Bowl Ends Season

ESU 9 Contest

On Tuesday, February 12, the Silver Lake Junior High Quiz Bowl team traveled to Central Community College to participate in the Educational Service Unit 9 Academic Quiz Bowl competition.  The nine member team represented Silver Lake well as they  defeated Clay Center and Doniphan Trumbull.  The losses of the day came at the hands of Adams Central and Hastings Middle School.  The Adams Central loss was a double tie-breaker (60-65).  Keenan Danehey answered ten questions for the day, followed by Mike Hinrichs with five.  Teammates Amy Trausch and Mackenzie Skupa each answered one question.

The 2007-2008 Silver Lake Academic Quiz Bowl Team has concluded a very successful year.  Members include Danehey, Hinrichs, Trausch, Skupa, Morgan Hill, Kasey Johnson, Richard Ehrman, Catarino Perez, and Nikki Blumenthal.  Mrs. Heuertz is the coach.  Congratulations to these students for a job well done!SLPS Jr. High Quiz Bowl Team Members at the ESU #9 Meet are pictured above (left to right):  Morgan Hill, Mike Hinrichs, Keenan Danehey, Amy Trausch, Cat Perez, Nikki Blumenthal.
