Working together to help others

Can you imagine not having enough food in your house to feed
your family? It’s a problem that sometimes people try to ignore.
But it’s always there. This month, Silver Lake is going to try to
change that.
Silver Lake High School recently hosted a food drive put on by
students who attend the Quantum Learning leadership workshops. Each
class had their own collection box, as well as a special box for
teachers and staff.
Since our school brings kids from three different counties—Adams,
Webster, and Franklin—the leadership group drew for which county
will get the food collected from the food drive this year. Franklin
County won the drawing and will receive the food collected this
month. The students hope to make this event an annual one, so Adams
and Webster counties will benefit in future years.
Congratulations on your efforts, Silver Lake students and staff. We
challenge you to keep collecting food and to continue to make the
world a better place!
