Elementary Track Meet

Elementary Track Meet
May 8th, 2009, was a fun and fulfilling day for the younger Mustangs in Bladen. At 9:00 am, Silver Lake students in grades Kindergarten through third grade went outside onto the football field to run, jump, and throw for the annual Silver Lake Elementary Track Meet. The weather was perfect as parents came to watch their children perform, teachers had a day off of teaching, and students had a chance to show others their track talents.
At noon, the switch was made with the younger grades going inside, and grades 4-6 coming outside to show their talents.
Individual placings were not available at press time, but I think sixth grade student Angel DeBord summed the day up by saying, “I had a lot of fun, but the sunburn hurts!”
