Teen Center Coming to Roseland SOON!

With the help of a local businesswoman, her family and several other families and kids there will soon be a teen center in Roseland. The center will be open to students between the end of the school day and school events that are held later that same day, as well as being open after most school events.
This center will hopefully be open on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the school year as well. It is a non-profit venture in an attempt to give kids a place to go, hang out and have fun. With a district as large and rural as Silver Lake’s district, it is sometimes a dilemma to figure out what to have kids do after school, after events and even on weekends. This center will serve a very important role in the community by giving students who travel a place to go and have fun while awaiting activities, as well as be an outlet for the area youth rather than getting into other mischief.
To date, the center already has two foosball tables, a basketball shooting game, pool table, cable TV (which has been donated by Glenwood---thank you, Glenwood!), a ping pong table, various board games and a place to watch movies. Donations of equipment or money can be made to Julie Grabill by calling her at 756-6446 or mailing donations to P.O. Box 25, Roseland, NE 68973). If you are interested in helping out, please contact Julie directly! There is still need for a refrigerator, televisions, dvd player and furniture (preferably lounge chairs, couches, loveseats). What a great addition to the Silver Lake Community! Keep checking the website and school information sources for more on the teen center.
