ESU #9 Art Contest

Information Provided by Art Instructor Trish Hinrichs

by Dana Epley

September 24, 2009

In 2007, the Educational Service Unit #9 began a student art exhibit at their facility in Hastings. ESU #9 selected artwork from the schools they serve, including Silver Lake Public Schools. They frame and display the artwork for two years. This year is the end of the first art exhibit and a new one is now beginning. Silver Lake is proud to have three artists work selected featured for the next two years, beginning with September 8, 2009. Trish Hinrichs, K-12 art teacher submitted the artwork for selection in April of 2009, and recently learned that artists Mark Thurston's 3rd grade work, Joslyn Grabill's 5th grade work, and Alarissa Borja's senior work will have their artwork featured for the next two years at ESU #9.

All of the selected area art students were recognized at the ESU #9 on Monday, September 28, 2009, in a special Art Open House to show off the wonderful art students in the ESU #9 service area.

Congratulations to our Silver Lake artists.  We are proud to call you Mustangs!
