Butterbraids! Butterbraids! Get your
Butterbraids! The Silver Lake Chapter of FBLA began their annual
Butterbraid sales on October 1st, but some students were too
anxious to wait and got their order forms early. Each member went
out and sold as many as they could until the 23rd of October,
hoping to raise enough money to help pay for the 20 students who
are eligible to attend the Student Leadership Conference in the
spring.
Sponsor Dana Epley was very pleased with
the number of these delicious pastries sold this year as the
members racked up a whopping 696 butterbraids! This combined for a
total of ap*****mately $4000 to pay towards the expenses associated
with State and National Leadership Conferences for those who
qualify. Junior Megan Jacobitz was the top salesperson - selling
thirty-seven butterbraids.
The remaining event in October for FBLA is
the Elementary Pumpkin Judging on Thursday, October 29th, when the
FBLA officers will head down to the elementary to judge the
creative pumpkins that the kids will be carving. Their next regular
meeting will be Tuesday morning at 8 AM in Mrs. Hinrich’s room.
Members are encouraged to wear their just-received FBLA shirts for
points!
