The Lady Mustangs Take Down the Blue Devils

The Silver Lake Lady Mustangs basketball team traveled to Kenesaw to take on the Blue Devils on December 18th. The team found themselves easily defeating their neighbors and TVC foes. The Mustangs took control right away with their fast-paced game, finding the Blue Devils unprepared, and leading by the score of 36 to13 at halftime. They showed no let down in the second half, winning the game with a final score of 61 to 33 and improving their record to 5-0.
Seniors Shelby Rupprecht and Kayla Timm led the team with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Fellow senior Cami Bruckman followed with 10 points and 14 rebounds, and senior Chloe Gibson had 7 points and 3 rebounds. Freshman Mackenzie Skupa came off the bench to score five points and grab seven rebounds. Juniors Bailey Morris and Megan Jacobitz both added four points. Bruckman led in assists with 7, while Morris and Senior Jenna Grabill both had 3.
“I was very proud of the girls with the intensity we started with in the Kenesaw game. We jumped out to an early lead and increased it all game long,” stated Head Coach Keith Crowe. The Lady Mustangs had a great game against Kenesaw and have had a great start of the season, going undefeated into the holiday tourney.
