Lady Mustangs Tame the Wildcats
Silver Lake Lady Mustangs Stay Undefeated

On January 12th, Silver Lake took on the Axtell Wildcats for a make-up game. The Lady Mustangs got out to a great start, outscoring the Wildcats 17 to 6 in the first quarter. The momentum continued into the second quarter with Silver Lake scoring 16 points and holding Axtell to 7, leaving the halftime score at 33 to 13. In the third quarter, they had a stellar defense holding the Cats to only 3 points, while scoring 15 themselves. This gave the younger girls a chance to get some experience in the fourth quarter. The game ended with a final score of 58 to 30.
Cami Bruckman led in scoring with 19 and also added 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 6 steals. Kayla Timm led in rebounds with nine and also put up 12 points. Bailey Morris was the leader in assists, dishing out 8 total and grabbed 5 rebounds, added in 8 points, and had 5 steals. Jenna Grabill scored 7 points. Carmi Grigg and Shelby Rupprecht both added 4 points, while Rupprecht had 7 rebounds and Grigg had 3. Chloe Gibson added in 4 points and 3 rebounds.
“We started out the game with a lot of intensity and pressure. We jumped out to an early lead and increased it as the game went along. We executed our offenses very well and played great defense,” stated Coach Keith Crowe about the game. The Lady Mustangs improved to a record of 10-0 to stay undefeated. Silver Lake will take next take on two of their conference rivals, the Harvard Cardinals and the Franklin Flyers, next.
