Silver Lake Speaks Out At Deshler

First Meet of the Year Held with Thayer Receiving Honors

    On January 16th, the Silver Lake speech team gave up their Saturday to go to their first meet of the year. It was held at Deshler with several other area schools in attendance. The Silver Lake Speech Team is made up of six Mustangs:  Jennifer Mahoney and Cole Mangers in informative speaking, Nikki Blumenthal and Andy Jones in humorous prose, Jenna Thayer in persuasive speaking, and Jacob Trausch and Cole Mangers teamed up for a duet speech. The team of six is coached by Mr. Ken Sovereign again this year.

Congratulations to all of the members who competed and a special pat on the back to Jenna Thayer, who received 6th place in persuasive speaking.  Good luck to the team on Saturday, January 23rd, when they will be attending the Hastings College Speech Meet.
