Lady Mustangs Conquer the Red Cloud Lady Warriors

January 27, 2010

On Friday, January 22, our undefeated Lady Mustangs took on the Red Cloud Lady Warriors at home. With the home court advantage, the Mustangs represented the communities well, adding another win to their undefeated record. The Lady Mustangs came out ahead in all four quarters, with scoring by quarters as follows: 13-5, 12-2, 16-10, and 15-5, respectively. The final score came out to be 56-22 in favor of the hometown Lady Mustangs.

Junior Bailey Morris led the Lady Mustangs in points. Morris finished the game with a high of 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Following behind with 9 points were a couple of the Lady Mustangs’ seniors Cami Bruckman and Shelby Rupprecht. Adding 6 points a piece were seniors Jenna Grabill and Carmi Grigg. Senior Chloe Gibson tallied on an additional basket to round out the scoring.

Head coach, Keith Crowe commented on the game saying, "We started out the game well offensively and defensively.  I thought that was important because Red Cloud plays with a lot of intensity and plays very good defense.  We relaxed on the offensive side a few times and had some turnovers but overall I thought we played a good game."

The Lady Mustangs will resume play on Tuesday night, January 26th, when they are on the road to play Wilcox-Hildreth.  The game at Wilcox is set to tip off at 6:30 PM. Congratulations on the 13-0 season so far, Lady Mustangs, and keep it up!
