Student Council Holds Fundraiser
Successful for Silver Lake and the Winner

Student Council is bound and determined to raise a good sum of money this year in order to host a variety of student activities for the student body at Silver Lake. They have been doing free throw contests at halftimes of games, and this time it was a “Split the Pot” on January 22nd during the Red Cloud basketball games.
It had been a generous night and the total pot came to 184 dollars, making half of the money a sweet 92 dollars to go to one lucky winner. Well, the winner of this money just so happened to be a giving school board member, Daren Niemeyer. Niemeyer cares so much about Silver Lake and the hard work that the Student Council puts into their student activities that he donated half of his half, or 41 dollars, back to the student-led organization. This means he walked away with 41 dollar, while Student Council walked away with $143. A huge thanks goes out to Mr. Niemeyer from the Student Council and all the students at Silver Lake for your donation.
