Academic Quiz Bowl

Silver Lake Jr. High Quiz Bowl team competed in the Educational Service Unit #9 Competition on Wednesday, February 10th. Captain, Kaitlin Schneider and team members Tori Kissell, Anthony Struck, Josie Parr, Rylee Morris, Chloe Hartman, and Seyler Monroe spent the day digging in the depths of their knowledge to overpower their opponents as they went three and two on the day.

Silver Lake defeated St. Cecilia 30 – 15, Doniphan Trumbull 60 – 15, Sandy Creek 20 – 5 before falling to Kenesaw in a tie-breaker 30 – 35, and Sacred Heart Lawrence 35 – 50 in the double elimination tournament.

Kaitlin successfully answered nine toss up questions in the meet while teammates, Josie Parr answered six, Tori Kissell answered three, and Seyler and Rylee each answered one question for the day.

Students felt good about their competition as they were one of the last eight team of a field of twenty four.
