Winter Weather Leads to Ball Being Held in February Instead of December

The name Winter Ball was fitting for the event held on Friday, February 19th. Originally scheduled for December, winter weather postponed the activity until Friday, February 19th, when Silver Lake hosted the event following the Silver Lake vs. Shelton basketball game. The dance lasted until 12:30 p.m. due to starting so late.
The Student Council made a balloon arch for couples to get their photographs taken. The deejay for the event was Matt Strampher. Student Council hosted the event under the direction of their sponsor, Trish Hinrichs.
Student Council Vice President Jacob Trausch commented on the dance saying, “The dance was very fun and enjoyable, and everybody had a great time.” There were approximately 45 students that attended the dance. In addition to dancing, the crowd enjoyed pop and pizza for a small fee.
The money from the dance and the concessions goes to helping fund different student council activities that are put on throughout the year. Thanks to Student Council for hosting the dance, and to everyone who attended!
