Bringing Home The Medals

  On Friday, February 19 the Silver Lake Science Olympiad participants went to Adam Central to compete in the Science Olympiad with some tough competition including Harvard, Sandy Creek, Superior, Doniphan- Trumbull, St. Cecilia, Skutt Catholic, Adam Central, Skutt Catholic Jayhawks, Johnson- Brock, and Elba. TVC Speech; Coming in 3rd

On February 21, the Silver Lake Speech Team went to Lawrence-Nelson for TVC Speech. Thirteen Silver lake speech competitors came home with medals. Taran Hanson and Taylor Nabower both earned two medals, making a grand total of 15 medals for the Silver Lake team. A Tough Loss to End the Season

On Monday, February 12, the Lady Mustangs made their way to Minden not knowing if they would extend their season or be done for the year. Early Morning Risers

On Saturday, February 17, the Silver Lake speech team got up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to head off to Sutton to perform their speeches in front of judges and their competition for just the second time this season after the Sandy Creek meet was canceled last Saturday due to unsafe driving weather conditions. Back to Back Games

  On Thursday, February 8, the boy's basketball team faced the tough Giltner Hornets. The Mustangs let the Hornets get a good start in the first quarter of the game, leaving them leading by 12. Mustangs Trample the Dawgs

  On Tuesday, February 6, the Lady Mustangs took on the Shelton Bulldogs in a late game. During the first quarter, it was a dog fight, with the Mustangs scoring 9 points while Shelton scored 8. The Mustangs pulled ahead in the second quarter gaining 15 points to Shelton’s 6. Ending of a Season with 2 Losses

  On Monday, February the 5, the JH boys were challenged against the Blue Hill Bobcats on their home court in Roseland. Winter Readers

January winners in the Accelerated Reader Program at Silver Lake include Gage Kilmer, Derek Zubrod, Trista Hanson, Madelyn Strong, Brooklyn Meyer, Kiersten Kober, and Rehgan Miller.  Students can enjoy Dairy Queen, Davi Nails, and the Rivoli theater as their generosity helps to make this program possible.  Congratulations, students!
