Mrs. Mahoney's sixth grade Science students designed bottle rockets and launched them Tuesday, September 15th, during Science class. Gerry Grandstaff helped the students shoot them off and talked about Newton's Laws of Motion with the students. The bottle rocket that went the greatest distance was designed by Cole Shurigar with a distance of 97 feet. Cole was followed by Sydney Parr, and 3rd place went to Abby Ehrman.
The bottle rockets were also judged for creativity with Randa Klein placing 1st with “The Daisy Blaster", Syd Skupa placing 2nd with a yellow and black bumble bee, and Ella Shaw placing 3rd with a Hawaiian rocket.
Congratulations to the sixth grade class on a successful project.
