by Dana Epley
October 27, 2009
Nine fourth graders were awarded a movie party for completing their first quarter AR goals. Those attending were: Jamie Berns, Clinton Fulk, Wyatt Griess, Jeffrey Hill, Desiree Kempkes, Isabella Kissell, Reid Parr, Alyssa Schmidt, and Mark Thurston. The group watched The Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian while enjoying some Chex Mix and Eileen’s cookies.
Wyatt Griess was the top reader for the quarter racking in a total of 63.4 points. His favorite book he’s read so far this school year is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. He’s already read four of the Harry Potter books and plans to finish the series. Other popular reads in fourth grade this quarter were: Tunnels, The Dragon’s Child, The Curse of the Campfire Weenies, How to Eat Fried Worms, Football Double Threat, and Miss Piggle Wiggle. If you ask Bella Kissell, she would tell you to just start reading any of the Beverly Cleary books as they are among her favorites. The fourth graders have started reading to reach their second quarter AR goals. Good luck fourth graders and happy reading!
