Test Your Luck
With Student Council's Split-the-Pot

Arlon Jacobitz became the lucky winner
of a big $73 on Friday, October 23rd at the Silver Lake/Giltner
football game in Bladen. The Silver Lake Student Council did a
fundraiser to raise money for student activities such as the annual
back-to-school swim party, hockey night, dances, movie nights, and
any other student activity that their members dream up. This was
their first attempt at the “Split-the-Pot” fundraiser, and Stu-Co
members said it to be “very successful.” The group has plans to
continue the fundraiser during basketball season, where they plan
to hold another “Split-the-Pot” fundraiser.
Student Council sold tickets throughout the
football game that night and raised $146, in which half of the
money went to the winner, Arlon Jacobitz, and the other half to
Student Council. Thank you to everyone who participated, and be
prepared to buy your tickets for this event during a girls’ and
boys’ basketball game in Roseland (date yet-to-be-determined). By
doing so, you will know that you are supporting not only our local
Student Council chapter, but all of our Silver Lake junior-senior
high students!
