“Jolly Old St. Nicholas, lean your ear this way!” sang the Silver Lake Elementary students at Thursday evening’s performance. Christmas was in the air as the students lifted their voices in song to celebrate this joyous season.

The Kindergarteners, First, and Second graders opened the concert with songs such as “It’s Time to Get Ready for Christmas,” and “Deck the Halls” incorporated into a poem entitled “Christmas Season”. Along with singing, the children entertained their families by playing instruments and doing actions during the songs.

Following a short intermission, the 3rd – 6th graders took the stage to present their annual Christmas musical. “I Need a Little Christmas Vacation”, a play about the students getting stuck at school for the holiday vacation, included eight songs woven into a clever, yet tender script. The kids sang and danced their way through the show, making the evening a great success.
At the end of the concert, Santa himself made an appearance with his pack full of candy, peanuts, and oranges for the little ones! The children all enjoyed telling Santa what they would like for Christmas this year.
Congratulations to all of the Silver Lake elementary students on a great evening of entertainment and Christmas spirit!
