The Doc Gizmo Science Theatre came to the Silver Lake Schools at Bladen on December 16th, 2009. This is the first time that Phil “Doc Gizmo” Arnold has presented his program in Bladen. The program was held at the school starting at 2:00 p.m.
Phil and his wife Susan have developed this program to make Science come alive for students and teachers alike. It is a collection of about 20 Discrepant Event science demos, designed to help students find that science can be fun and exciting. Over the past 10 years Phil has been in front of over 177,000 students, doing over 850 programs, including 150 at Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO.
Susan now teaches chemistry and physics at Maize HS, Maize, KS. Together they have written a notebook of over 160 good solid science demos and activities covering a wide range of topics in Physics, Chemistry, Natural Science, math, Astronomy and Ecology. A copy of this is left with each school that hosts “Doc Gizmo.”
