Quiz Bowl Team Named for 2010 Season

Silver Lake High School finally, after rescheduling two times, had their Quiz Bowl Tryouts for the 2010 team.  The lucky members who made the grade are seniors Ronny Sorensen, Connor Hansen, Kevin Hall, Nate Kosse, Jared Rathje, Jennifer Mahoney,and Seth Plambeck, along with junior Erin Plambeck, and freshman Keenan.

Although the team has been selected, the decision on who the captain will be is yet to be determined. When asking the team members about their choice for captain, they believe that last year’s captain Seth Plambeck stands a chance, but will face fierce competition with the group of intelligent, young individuals he has on his team. 

The team, under the direction of their coach Diane Mahoney, will certainly need to have their captain chosen by the time of their first practice competition, January 27th, 2009, held at silver Lake.  It will be a triangular to help Silver Lake and two other area schools practice for the first real competition, which will be held on February 11th at CCC and is sponsored by ESU9.  Good luck to the Silver Lake Quiz bowl team in their 2010 season!
