Recently, Superintendent Polk received the letter below in the mail from a person unknown to himself and the office staff. Most letters that come "out of the blue" from people are not signed and are usually not positive, but this one was both (signed and positive). Proud of his students and the district in general, he wanted to share it with the public...
To the Superintendent of Silver Lake Public Schools:
This past Friday evening I was in Grand Island and was looking to find an activity and found out there was a D-1 final at Northwest High school, which by the way has a nice facility. I was impressed by the positive behavior of your fans, especially the students and the quality of your band's performance. I was impressed by the athleticism of your student athletes. Good Luck in the state tournament.
