BDS Beats Boys Basketball First Round
Loss Sends Boys to Consolation Game

On December 29th, 2012, the Silver Lake boys basketball team took on the Bruning-Davenport-Shickley Eagles in the first round of the annual Silver Lake Holiday Classic.
The first quarter started off with BDS jumping out on the Mustangs scoring 8 points in the first quarter to the Mustangs' 4. The second quarter showed the same results as the Mustangs trailed the Eagles by the score of 23 to 14 going into the half.
The Mustangs came out in the second half and the shots just would not fall. The Eagles went on a 16 to 3 run in the third quarter running the score up on the Mustangs to a 39 to 17 lead. The fourth quarter ended in the same outcome with the Eagles outscoring the Mustangs 10 to 3, ending the game with a loss to the Mustangs: 49 to 20.
Junior Catarino Perez had this to say about the game, "We just got to put the game behind us and move forward. We can't dwell on this game. We have to focus on playing Alma."
