Mustangs Fall to #2 Sutton
Visiting Mustangs Beat Hometown Mustangs 70 to 20

The Silver Lake Boys Basketball Team played the Sutton Mustangs, ON January 9th, 2012, at home. This would be the first time the two teams have played each other, and the number two state-rated Sutton Mustangs have certainly earned their place in state rankings.
The first quarter started with a bang as the Silver Lake Mustangs held the visiting Sutton Mustangs to 12 and scored 7 themselves. The second quarter was a bit tougher for the home team as Sutton scored 13 more points than Silver Lake, ending the half behind by the score of 32 to 14.
Silver Lake came out in the start of the third quarter and was had trouble with Sutton as they are a strong team on both sides of the ball. The visiting Sutton Mustangs outscored the home team 18 to 4 to end the third quarter behind, 50 to 18. The fourth quarter faired the same as Sutton scored 20 to the Mustangs 2, ending the game with a final score of 70 to 20.
Junior starter Zach Polk had this to say about the game, "Sutton is a really good team. They were very physical, and it was a bit of a wake-up call for us."
The Silver Lake Mustangs' next game will be on Friday, January 13th, 2012, when they will travel to Harvard to take on the Cardinals. The girls jayvee will begin the action for the night at 4:30 PM. Individual statistics for the Sutton game are as follows:
