Dancing In The Rain

Abigail Borgman

April 05, 2017

Juniors and Senior at Silver Lake high school had a fun-filled night of dancing, glam, and fun, as the Juniors hosted the 2017 prom, “Dancing In The Rain.” This night was kicked off with the prom parade filled with sweet rides and glamourous dresses. After a quick picture session, the prom meal got started, including salmon or chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, and cheesecake.

Afterward the students got their groove on as the dance started, lasting until midnight. After the end of the dance, post prom was kicked off with various guessing games and with a raffle for some great prizes. Two lucky seniors got to take home a flat screen TV, and other prizes included a mini-fridge, Beats headphones, and even a car care kit.

Attendees then loaded up onto the charter bus and made their way to Kearney, for some fun at the Big Apple Fun Center. Here students bowled, had fun in ballocity, got some sand volleyball action, and even played a few rounds of laser tag. Students arrived back at the school around 4 a.m., and soon headed back to bed for some much-needed rest. 2017 prom was a huge success and the Juniors and Seniors would like to give a huge thank you to sponsors Mrs. Hinrichs and Ms. Harrison. They would also like to thank Jeannie Kral for the great food, and Teresa Schmidt for the fun-filled post-prom, as well as everyone who donated items or their time to make prom a success.
