Dinkler Places First At Districts-State Bound!

Wednesday May 10 brought district track and good news for those going to state including Silver Lake’s Makayla Dinkler. Although Silver Lake only had one person qualify, they tried their hardest and had fun. For the girls, Quinn Kilmer ran the 1600 meter race and didn’t place but ran it in 6:59, she also ran the 800 in 3:30. Makayla Dinkler got sixth place in the 400 meter dash running it in 67.2 seconds. She also got fourth place in the 200 meter dash running it in 28.6 seconds. Makayla got first in the long jump jumping 15’09 and jumped 4’04 in the high jump. Kia Wengler ran in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. She ran 16.7 seconds in the 100 and 37.4 in the 200. Trausch also ran in the 100 meter dash. In the 100 she ran 16.9 seconds. Brooke Kamler threw 58’07 in discus and 26’07.75 in shot. Overall Silver Lake girls got ninth place.

    For the boys, Skyler Ericsson got sixth in the 100 meter dash, running it in 12.0 seconds. He also placed fifth in the 200 running that in 25.4 seconds. Skyler also got third in long jump, jumping 18 feet 6 inches. Alex Ehrman ran the 200 meter dash in 27.3 seconds, jumped 33’09 in triple jump. Corey Conway ran the 400 meter dash in 54 seconds and got fifth place. He also ran the 1600 in 5:29. Taran Hanson ran the 1600 meter run in 6:26 and the 3200 meter run in 13:34. Zane Journey jumped 15’ in long jump, threw 34’ 07.25 in shot put and 97’ 06 in discus. Mark Thurston got no distance in discus. Overall the Silver Lake boys got seventh place. Great job to all the Mustangs on a great track season and good luck to Makayla Dinkler at the State Meet!!! She will jump at 5:30 on Friday, May 19th at Omaha Burke High School.
