JH Track Ends Season at Red Cloud

The Silver Lake Junior High Mustangs finished off their track and field season with a meet at Red Cloud on Thursday, May 11. It was a good day for the Mustangs with many athletes setting personal best times and distances. For the girls, Jenna Strampher finished 3rd in the High Jump; Kiersten Kober, Madison Miller, and Katelynn Karr finished 3rd, 5th and 6th in the Long Jump; Amanda Ehrman earned 4th in the Triple Jump; Seirra Watts-Hofstetter received 3rd in the Discus Throw; Madison Miller finished 3rd in the 1600 Meter Run; Katelynn Karr finished 3rd in the 100 Meter Dash with Amanda Ehrman and Kiersten Kober finishing 5th and 6th in the same event. Lastly, the 800 Sprint Medley team consisting of Katelynn Karr, Amanda Ehrman, Kiersten Kober, and Madison Miller finished a close 2nd in a very exciting race.

 

        On the boys side, Luke Swanson earned a 3rd place mark in the Long Jump; Canyen Jameson narrowly missed out on 1st place in the Discus Throw; Matthew Hansen and Lane Parr finished 5th and 6th in the High Jump; Sam Hemberger received 1st in the Shot Put with Canyen Jameson receiving 6th in the same event; Logan Greenough, Luke Swanson, and Matthew finished 2nd, 3rd, and 5th in the 100 Meter Hurdles; Lane Parr finished 4th in the 1600 Meter Run; Sam Hemberger earned 5th in the 200 Meter Dash; Matthew Hansen received 5th in the 400 Meter Dash; Luke Swanson and Logan Greenough finished 2nd and 3rd in the 200 Meter Hurdles. The 800 Sprint Medley team consisting of Blaine Simonton, Lane Parr, Canyen Jameson, and Max Hammer got 5th. The 4X100 Meter Relay team consisting of Sam Hemberger, Derek Zubrod, Canyen Jameson, and Logan Greenough received 4th. Lastly, the Distance Medley team of Luke Swanson, Sam Hemberger, Lane Parr, and Matthew Hansen finished 4th.
