Scary Good....

Julie Jones

November 02, 2017

On Friday, October 27th, the FBLA officer team along with adviser Mrs. Behmer put on some costumes, loaded up the van, and headed to the elementary for a scary good time of pumpkin judging. The elementary got creative and showed off their best decorating skills this year, making the officers really think hard about which pumpkins they would pick. The pumpkins ranged from the classic baby and painted jack-o-lantern to caramel apples and donuts. Prizes were awarded to each winner and any student who entered a pumpkin in the contest.

For preschool, Kiyanna Menke and Carter Schulte came out with the win while kindergarten had Hailee Knehans, Emily Hemberger, Elise Parr, and Kayden Byers with the most creative pumpkins. The first graders made judging a little harder with their creative minds but in the end Sophie Parks, Ava Sorensen, and Zachery Engelhardt were the chosen winners. The second grade winners were Jake Kral, Justin Sharp, and Libby Soucek while third graders Brody Knehans, Cooper Wengler, and Xander Journey won the contest in their class.

The upper classes put a real challenge on the officer's’ shoulders. When it came down to it, the winning fourth graders were Sophie Schmidt, Landon Deuster, and Kamille Karr. In fifth grade, Emma Schmidt, Katelyn Strampher, Addison Schmidt, and Katy Soucek came out as the winners. In their last year of elementary pumpkin decorating, Bradyn Hemberger and Lana Swanson took home wins in sixth grade. Vice President Alex Ehrman added his thoughts on the event: “It was great to see the excitement on each student’s face. I enjoyed spending some time at the elementary.”
