November 02, 2017

The week of October 23 - 28 was Red Ribbon Week at the high school and elementary. Both schools took the Monday off of school and started the fun on Tuesday. The theme for Tuesday  at the elementary was “Smarties Choose To Be Drug Free” and the staff and students dressed up in a variety of colors. The students who dressed up received a red ribbon, a sticker, and a pack of smarties. Some students also received a water bottle in the prize drawing and the entire school played a game called Toss the Candy. Wednesday’s dress up day was “Red’y To Live A Drug-Free Life” and most of the students wore their red for the day. The students also received a sticker and a pencil. A few students also received a pencil sharpener in the prize drawing, the school day ended with a quick game of Builders and Bulldozers. Thursday was “Follow Your Dreams Don’t Do Drugs.” The students all wore their dream clothing to school which consisted of pajamas. As if the day couldn’t get any better the  students also received a ribbon, and some students received an eraser in the prize drawing. The elementary also played a game called Musical Hoops for Thursday’s theme. Friday’s theme was “Team Up Against Drugs” and the students “teamed” together and wore Silver Lake clothing. The elementary students received a sticker and an eraser as a participation prize. A sports ball was given to some lucky participants in the prize drawing, and the game Pass the Hoop was enjoyed by all.

The High School also got in on the fun with dress up days and prizes. Tuesday’s theme was “Twin Day” and every high school student dressed just like their twin and received a pen. Wednesday was “Wacky Wednesday” and they halls and classes were wacky as ever. Each student who participated in wearing their  wacky clothing and got a sticker. On Thursday, the students wore red to earn a bracelet. Friday’s theme was “School Spirit Day” with everyone wearing school spirit clothing to receive a pencil. Thank you to both the high school and elementary Student Council for putting such a fun week together.
