On Tuesday, November 14th the Silver Lake Elementary Quiz Bowl team hosted a meet inviting Blue Hill, Kenesaw, and Red Cloud to their school to compete in a friendly competition.  Each school had the opportunity to compete against each other.  The first match of the day was Silver Lake vs. Blue Hill.  Silver Lake trailed much the match, but made a come back to win 50 to 40 with Jeremy Sharp and Keaton Karr leading the team.  The second round brought Kenesaw and Blue Hill to the table.  This match came down to a tie breaker question and Kenesaw come out on top.  Next round Kenesaw dominated Red Cloud winning 60 to 5.  After three rounds, the students were treated to cookies and a short break to regroup for the final matches.  During round four Red Cloud struggled to score against Blue Hill losing 50 to 5.  Silver Lake was excited to play again, but struggled against the Red Cloud team.  Despite many attempts by Keaton Karr, Clay Plambeck, and Katelyn Strampher at answering toss up questions, they came up short losing 15 to 35.  In the final match Keaton, Katelyn, and Jeremy all offered answers to toss up questions.  It was a close match against a tough Kenesaw team, but Silver Lake came out on top 50 to 40.  Each team member contributed to bonus questions and gave their best effort.  It was a great learning experience.  The next meet for the Silver Lake Elementary team will be at Kenesaw in January.
