The Final Act

Addie Hartman

December 01, 2017

On Tuesday November 28, the Outlaws and their crew loaded up the bus with their costumes and set and headed to Shickley for District One Act. The Outlaws had a fantastic performance-the best of the season- and received 6th place overall and many outstanding performance awards. Those who received an award were Desiree Kempkes, Alyssa Schmidt, Taran Hanson, Elizabeth Trausch, A.J. Neimeyer, Ashley Jensby, and Daniel Acosta. Congratulations! One Act member and junior Julie Jones had this to say about her first year of One Act: “As a first year performer, I feel as though we did well this season. Although we didn't win any ‘tournaments,’ we improved every performance we gave by getting into character and ultimately, having fun! I'd like to thank all the stage crew, my fellow actors, and Mrs. Hinrichs for a fantastic season. Although the season is going to be missed, I think it is safe to say on everyone's behalf, that the early mornings will not be!” It was a great season and the cast and crew learned so much from Mrs. Hinrichs. She put her thoughts together and said, “District performance was the best performance of the entire season! The performers had a lot of fun, and they acted over and above my expectations. They stepped into their character and made it fun and enjoyable for everyone. I am extremely pleased with the final performance and I believe they truly involved the audience and made them laugh too. We finished the season with seven of the students receiving outstanding Performance at Districts. I couldn’t ask for a better group of actors, actresses and stage crew. I watched the students grow over the last two months with hard work and dedication. I enjoyed working with everyone of them.”
