JV Wins Big at Red Cloud Quad Tournament

On Saturday, September 8th, the Silver Lake JV volleyball team traveled to Red Cloud for a quadrangular volleyball tournament. This tournament included teams from Silver Lake, Red Cloud, Wilcox/Hildreth, and Shelton.
The Lady mustangs easily won the first game against Red Cloud. The girls came out strong and defeated the Lady Warriors in just 2 sets. The girls won the game with multiple ace serves.
After a two game rest the girls confidently faced Wilcox/Hildreth. Again, the Mustangs had a number of hard serves which the Falcons couldn’t keep inside the court. The Mustangs quickly won the first two set to end the game.
In the third and final game of the day the Lady Mustangs were matched up against the Lady Bulldogs from Shelton. The Mustangs out-serve the Bulldogs, winning their final game of the day in just two sets.
The Lady Mustangs came away from the Red Cloud Quad 3-0 for the day.
Coach Jen tenBensel said, “All 13 girls really came out and competed nicely on Saturday! I was very impressed with each and every one of them! We played 3 games and the girls didn't lose a set!! I can really see a lot of improvement from the beginning of 2-a-days until now! This is a great group of girls who work hard each and every day, and it shows!!”
