Number of Years on School Board |
I was on the board for two years before the consolidation of the two schools. When the merger took place, I did not get reelected by the county board at that time, but I ran again the next term and have been on the board since. |

Philosophy of Education |
I believe the reason I have been on the board is to see not only my children have a good education - but also all the children in the system have the same opportunity. I enjoy being involved with the activities and education in the district with the staff and administration.
Some of the highlights I have been involved with in the district were the mergers not only in the early stages but with all four communities. The bond issue was a great accomplishment for the district as to keep the district with the best facilities that were possible.
The latest success for me with the district was the 1-1 initiative and the technology made available to the students. It makes me wish I was back in school again. I can remember as I told my youngest daughter that we had typewriters that did not even have a cord on them so things have come a long way in 45 years. |

Personal Information |
I work at Thermo King in Hastings where I have been employed since 1986. I am currently in the Quality Department where I have numerous jobs.
I have four wonderful children and a very understanding wife who also graduated from Roseland in 1972 and we married as High School sweethearts that fall. I have five grandchildren who are scattered too far away but enjoy seeing them as much as possible. Hobbies as far as I am concerned are being heavily involved as a Volunteer fireman an EMT for the Holstein district. I have been doing this since 1980 and cannot get enough of being a volunteer. I am not a movie person or music person and from the looks of the scales the last time I weighed I like most any kind of food.
I attend church in Roseland where I have also been an acolyte for the past 10 years.
I spend a lot of time outside taking care of the yard which seems like a full time job. |
