Philosophy of Education |
I want to provide the Silver Lake students with the best possible education that the taxpayers can afford to provide. I think it is important for a school district to have a lot of property valuation per student to finance an excellent education. The merger of Bladen, Roseland, Campbell and Holstein school districts has created a school district which accomplishes this. Silver Lake has one of the highest valuations per student in the state. This allows us to have an excellent student-teacher ratio with course offerings to meet the needs of all students. It also allows us to offer our students the computer technology that is so important in today’s world. |

Personal Information |
I married my wife Becky in 1974. We have lived in the Bladen area ever since. Becky worked several years for Trausch’s store in Roseland and is currently working very hard for Timm’s service. I farm in the Bladen area, own and operate Ag-Land Insurance, and work for Rural Community Insurance Services as a Crop Hail Adjuster. We have two children, Kari and Jeremy. They both graduated from Silver Lake. Kari graduated from Doane College with a teaching degree. She taught 3 years at St. Boniface in Elgin, Nebraska before moving back to Bladen. She started teaching at Silver Lake in 2001. Kari is married to Jesse Sharp and they have two children, Josi and Jeremy. Jeremy graduated from Southeast Community College at Beatrice. He worked for Boisen Farms near Minden, Nebraska. In 2002, he was killed in a farming accident. I spend most of my free time spoiling my two grandchildren. I also enjoy watching high school and college sports. |
