Philosophy of Education |
I spent a few years doing scientific research before entering the education profession. I had always thought about teaching but had never been nudged in that direction. I have always loved learning, and I guess that’s what ultimately drove me to get my teaching endorsement in natural sciences. I taught 7-12 Science at Clay Center Public Schools for one year, and I had a wonderful time teaching.
My newest educational challenge is being the Technology Coordinator for Silver Lake Schools. Silver Lake is currently taking some huge technological strides, such as implementing PowerSchool as a student information system and going one-to-one with laptops for every student. I love being busy, and I love being challenged; my position as technology coordinator is giving me all that and more. |

Personal Information |
My husband Kevin and I have two children, Samantha and Beau. Samantha is three years old and attends pre-school at Silver Lake. Beau is two months old and deeply adored by his older sister. Kevin farms, and between farming and raising our children, we are left with little time for hobbies or vacations. Our favorite family activities are checking the crops or doing some irrigating during the summer, and reading books and listening to Samantha’s favorite songs at home. As for our favorite foods, we are all pretty big eaters at the Bonifas house. We love food, and it usually doesn’t stay on the table very long, no matter what it is. |
