Attention Seniors: Graduation Information Needed!

October 15th Deadline Rapidly Approaching

Every year, the Journalism class needs information EARLY for our graduating seniors to compile for the school newspaper, yearbook, composites, and for local newspapers. This year is no different as we have sent out letters to the senior parents, asking for the seniors to submit the following BY OCTOBER 15TH! If you have misplaced any of this paperwork, it is attached here for your convenience.

If you won’t have your senior pictures by October 15th, we ask that you PLEASE submit the rest of the materials by this date, and the pictures by December 15th.

1. Senior Questionnaire – This information is published in the Pony Express. Each issue of the Pony Express will feature the senior pictures are received in. Please ensure that your student fills this out with school appropriate information, that you look it over, and that it is returned to Mrs. Epley.
2. Senior Pictures – We will need at least three of these photos. Please designate on the photo where you would like it featured. These photos will be used for local newspaper graduation announcements, the composite, the Pony Express, and the school yearbook. Even if you want the same picture used in every publication, we still need to have 3 pictures as there will be one used in the composite and two for local newspapers that cannot be scanned & returned. NOTE: It is best to use head and shoulder pictures for the required photos and photos that are vertical, not horizontal. While this is not a requirement for the Journalism class, it is for the local newspapers and composite picture. We will also need a release from your student’s photographer to use his/her pictures. Release forms were sent home with the senior packet in August, but additional forms can be picked up from Mrs. Epley.
3. Senior Achievements – This is a list of participation, as well as honors and awards received, during the student's school years. Even though your child will more than likely receive additional awards throughout their senior year, we are asking that this is turned in early so that we can determine how much space is needed for listing achievements in the yearbook. We will send you a draft of what we have for you to look over and make additions/corrections to the list before submitting at the end of the school year.
4. Baby & Elementary/Jr. High Picture – These photos will be used in the yearbook and in the senior video. PLEASE LABEL THESE PICTURES ON THE BACK! It is hard to tell whose baby picture is if they are not labeled! All pictures will be scanned & returned quickly!
5. Memory Ad Information – You have the option of purchasing a senior memory ad for your student. What a great way to recognize and show your support for your student for all of their hard work and accomplishments! These full-color memory ads are $60 for the large ad (approximately 1/2 page) or $30 for the smaller ad (approximately 1/3 of a page). If you provide us with the personal message and the picture(s) you would like used (no more than 2-3 pictures), we will design the ad for you and send it to you for approval. We hope that you will participate to show your student just how much you care!
