Junior High Quiz Bowl Team Announced
Eight New Members are Announced

On Monday, November 3, 2008, there was a strenuous battle of the brains as 17 Junior High students tried out for the quiz bowl team. Students need to have a wide realm of knowledge for this organization. Questions asked at the tryouts and meets can be anything from common sense to math, science or literature. To be a member, you need to be a risk taker, because there is always a chance that you might be wrong. The members of the 2008-2009 Junior High Quiz bowl team are: Keenan Danehey, Gage Gibson, Kasey Johnson, Sydney Meyer, Mackenzie Skupa, Victoria Kissell, Kaitlin Schneider, and Anthony Struck.
There are three returning Junior High quiz bowl team members with experience, and several more who participated at the elementary level. “Knowing is the barrier to learning, and learning is the essence of life,” Keenan Danehey said when asked about Quiz Bowl. Their first meet is November 18th at Kenesaw for the Junior High Conference Quiz Bowl. The team also stated that being selected to the Quiz Bowl team takes discipline, instinct, guessing, and confidence.
When asked about the upcoming season, Mrs. Heuertz stated, “I'm expecting great things because we were champions in two meets last year!” Congratulations to the new members of our 2008-2009 Junior High Quiz Bowl Team, and good luck!
