The Silver Lake Foundation
Promoting Academic Literacy in Silver Lake Public Schools

December 04, 2007

Founded in 1997, the Silver Lake Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization dedicated to providing scholarships to college-bound Silver Lake High School graduates as well as promoting academic literacy within the Silver Lake school system.  The Foundation relies primarily on donations received from local businesses, school patrons, and alumni.

Over the past seven years, the Silver Lake Foundation has awarded $10,950 in scholarships to 26 Silver Lake High School graduates.  The Foundation has also been an active supporter of Silver Lake’s Accelerated Reader Program.

Please take a moment to consider making a contribution to the Silver Lake Foundation; all donations are tax deductible and will be verified with a receipt.  Even the smallest of donations will have a positive impact on Silver Lake’s students, from encouraging them to read more to enabling them to pay college tuition.

Your contribution will be acknowledged in several ways.  The names of contributing businesses and individuals, along with their levels of giving, will be published in the Silver Lake school newsletter and in the commencement program at Silver Lake High School’s graduation ceremony.  Contributors will also receive a window decal identifying them as supporters of the Silver Lake Foundation.  Donors can also choose to remain anonymous if they so wish.

Thank you for your time and consideration; all donations are encouraged and appreciated!  Checks can be made payable to The Silver Lake Foundation.
