FFA Ag Appreciation Meal

Mrs. Curlo

January 21, 2019

On January 8th, 2019 the Silver Lake FFA Chapter held their 5th annual Ag Appreciation and Greenhand Degree Ceremony. This night is to honor those who work in our agriculture industry and our future agriculture students. We want to celebrate the end of a bountiful harvest and let area ag producers and industry workers know how much we appreciate all that they do for us as a community, state, country, and world. Through our Ag and FFA program, we hope to create great individuals just like them. We also extended a big thank you to the parents for making food and to Jeannie Kral for making the brisket. The officers then introduced the seven new FFA members of the 2018-2019 school year at which time they received their FFA jackets.  The new members were Freshman: Brock Karr, Katelyn Karr, Natalia Cassell, Cierra Mankhey, Trista Hanson, Tyler Cumpston, and Max Hammer. These students worked hard to receive their jackets by learning and continuing to learn why agriculture and the FFA program is important. These jackets represent the future of Agriculture. It is our hope that these students leave Silver Lake with knowledge and support for agriculture and to become productive Ag leaders in the industry and advocates for the future of agriculture.
