Taking home the 3rd place overall for both girls and boys, the Silver Lake track team had a great day in Kenesaw on April 6! Starting with the girl's field events. Being the only Silver Lake girl competing in high jump, Makayla Dinkler soared over the high jump bar at 4 feet 6 inches and gave her a 3rd place standing. Brooke Kamler killed the competition throwing 31 feet and 4.75 inches in shot put, putting her in 4th place. Amanda Ehrman, flew through the air and jumped a total of 28 feet and 4.25 inches in triple jump giving her a 3rd place medal. In the long the Mustangs had two competitors, with Makayla Dinkler jumping 15 feet 8 inches giving her 1st place, and Katelyn Karr jumping 13 feet 5 inches placing 5th. The running events were outstanding for the Mustangs girls as well. Starting the running event session Kerigan Karr set the bar high for the girls running a 6:28 mile giving her a 2nd place spot. Kerigan added on to her earnings, running the 800 meter run in 2:49 giving her a 3rd place standing. The 200-meter dash was a plus for the girls too, having two girls place. Amanda Ehrman ran a 30.7 placing 6th and Makayla ran a 28.2 earning 1st place. In the 100 meter dash Katelyn Karr was the only Mustang to place, as she ran a time of 15.3 and got 5th place. The 4x100, including Katelyn Karr, Emmy Freitag, Trista Hanson, and Ehrman, finished with a time on 1:00 and earned 3rd place. The 4x400 team, Katelyn Karr, Ehrman, Freitag, and Kerigan Karr, fought hard and pulled through with a time of 5:15, finishing with 3rd place.

The Mustang boys had a great day, also. Zane Journey heaved a discus in the air and let it soar for 118 feet and 1 inch, earning 2nd place. Journey also threw shot, throwing 37 feet and 2.25 inches, placing 4th. Alex Ehrman took home 1st place, jumping 38 feet 3 inches, and Johnny Borgman jumped 37 feet and 6.75 inches, walking away with 2nd. The 2 mile run was a great finish for the boys. Lane Parr finished with a time of 12:21 and placed 2nd. Taran Hanson finished right behind Parr with a time of 13:14 and brought a 3rd place. The mile was also a great race for the boys. Oakley Rosno wrangled in a 2nd place medal by finishing with a time of 5:14.5. Lane Parr was not too far behind him and finished 5th with a time of 5:57.1. Matthew Hansen ran the 400-meter dash for the Mustangs and finished in 6th place with a time of 1:02.3. Ehrman took on the shorter distance and competed again in the 100-meter dash placing 4th with a time of 12.8. Luke Swanson bounded over both races of the hurdles. In the 110 meter hurdles he finished 2nd with a time of 20.06, and in the 300 hurdles, he finished in 3rd with a time of 49.3. The 4x100 relay including, Ehrman, Swanson, Journey, and Borgman, took the 3rd place medal with a time of 49.61. The 4x400 relay, including Ehrman, Hansen, Rosno, and Borgman finished with a 4:22 time and in the 3rd place spot. The 4x800 was a long one for the boys, but they executed well. Hansen, Parr, Max Hammer, and Hanson finished their relay at 10:40 and earned a 3rd place finish for the Mustangs.
