Picking Up The Roads

Jenna Strampher

October 03, 2019

On September 23rd, the FBLA and the Student Council members teamed up and picked up trash along the sides of the Roseland Road and Highway 74 with them being clean as can be by the end of the night.  First-time FBLA member, Brooklyn Meyer stated, “I felt really proud of myself to know that I was helping the school which was helping our community.” This was the first event for both of the groups for the school year, and they both had a blast picking up trash to help the community. “I always love to see both groups get together and do something meaningful for their community. The trash pickup always seems to be a success and our kids take pride in the work they completed.” So in all, both of the groups picked up a total of 5 miles cleaning up roads with around 20 bags of trash filled up. Thank you Silver Lake FBLA and Student Council!
